Inserted Instead

2018
Photolithography, monotype, beeswax
40"x30"

This print is accompanied by an artist book titled Orange Groves are Inserted Instead, both works address my discovery that one of my relative's homes in Wadi Hunayn, now called Ness Ziona was stolen by Israeli forces and converted into the Israel Institute for Biological Research. The IIBR is a research facility used to develop chemical weapons which are in turn used against Palestinian people. In aerial views of the facility, the orange groves my family planted centuries ago are inserted to conceal the property.
