Part of an in-progress body of work which investigates and responds to the events that the Abukhadra family experienced in Jaffa. Some of the crops the Abukhadras grew on their land in Jaffa were sugar cane, oranges, and barley. This gestural diagram references biological facets of the saccharum officinarum, the citrus sinensis, and the hordeum vulgare, and interviews with Kanaan Abukhadra, using poetics to explore and respond to diaspora, occupation, and betrayal. Positive information is absent from these objects. A diagram which should provide solely factual information becomes a schematic for grief, anger, and memory.
