NARRATIVE TERRORISM: Keynote Speech at Smith College Apartheid Week

  • Stoddard Hall 17 Elm Street Northampton, MA, 01060 United States (map)

“Lamia Abukhadra will discuss her interdisciplinary arts practice. She challenges harmful dominant narratives which perpetuate the settler colonial imagination as well as acts of violence and ethnic cleansing in Palestine and its diasporic spaces. She will discuss past and in-progress works which examine how violent colonial inventions of bureaucracy, terminology, urban planning, archiving, and geography affect the perception of Palestine, Palestinian experiences, representation, and historiography and embeds her own alternative, sometimes imagined, frameworks which bring to light strange personal and historical connections and poetic occurrences.”
